Reminder to cancel free Creativebug subscription (only if you signed up and don’t want it anymore)

A few weeks ago, we wrote about an opportunity for our readers to check out a free trial being offered by Creativebug as a potential alternative to Craftsy.  Many readers partook of this trial offer and we thank everyone who commented and shared their feedback and experiences.  Creativebug is a subscription service, so please remember to cancel if you don't want to continue.  The first month is free, but they will charge you after that.  If you didn't sign up, there is nothing for your to cancel.

When we wrote about this free trial offer, Craftsy had just launched a major “upgrade” to their platform and it didn't seem to be going so well.  We were all forced to ask the question whether there was as good alternative to Craftsy?

After a number of our readers have checked out Creativebug, I can say honestly that the feedback has been mixed.  Some readers liked the shorter format of the videos on Creativebug and the subscription model.  Others prefered the more in-depth lessons from Craftsy and the once-off pricing.

Below are just a few of the comments.  I encourage you go back to the original post to have a look through the comments if you're trying to make a buying decision between Creativebug and Craftsy.  If you have comments to add, please feel free to do so!

I found the two platforms are different. Creativebug has mostly shorter, project oriented classes (nothing wrong with that) while Craftsy has a lot of technique oriented classes with projects available. Craftsy classes are longer and more in depth. Creativebug seems geared to beginners.
Joy
I am still a Craftsy fan even with the changes. I like the pay for each class and I never pay full price with Craftsy.
Dita
I have been a member of the Creativebug for a few years now and I really enjoy their classes, especially about sewing bags and garments. I like the CB atmosphere and the wide range of courses they offer. I have purchased a lot of Craftsy classes and I like most of them but the current prices are just too expensive for me.
Ingrid
I find Creativebug more useful than Craftsy because it is subscription-based, the videos are easier to digest, and I really like the classes that have a daily component.
Lesley
I have quite a few Craftsy classes but have been unhappy at the increasing prices together with considerably shorter classes. I do like Creativebug, the model, quite a fresh approach and some really interesting sewing and quilting projects.

It's really had to say which is the better platform.  It does seem that most of our readers definitely seemed to prefer Craftsy.  From our perspective, Craftsy seems to have recovered from their recent update issues and now seems to be back on track.  We remain fans.

Hi Jeanette, just for clarity, we have nothing to do with your subscription and no access to your account with Creativebug. To cancel, I think you need to go there, log in and cancel. Perhaps another user who has done this can recount the specifics on how exactly to do this.

Crafty allows you unlimited access forever which works for me. Often I buy a course on sale. and put in on hold for another day to project. Always felt the cost was worth it!

That is what I do, also. I like that I can belong to Craftsy and only purchase what I want without a monthly or yearly charge.
