What do you want to learn in 2015?

What sewing skills do you want to learn in 2015? Answer the sewing poll and make sure to get your topics covered.I'm working on my schedule for the upcoming months.  I like to have a plan rather than just bumble along especially because if I have a goal in mind and it seems too hard, I'll put it off if I don't set myself a target date for it. So we've already had the polls and the results so far this year for:

Sewing Videos – Awesome or Evil?

What Craftsy Class Should I Review Next?

I've got lots of things I want to master.  Right off I'm still working on sewing bras and want to perfect the fit, and create a new wardrobe of perfect underwear.  Here's bra number 1 and bra number 2 so far.

And that serger – I'm so embaressed.  I posted the video of me opening it on Christmas Day and I admit I've looked at it a few times, signed up to the Beginning Serging class on Craftsy and yet still haven't found the time to really even get started.  I turned it on to check that it worked and that's it.  So that is high on my list of upcoming priorities.

But enough about me.  To help me work on my schedule for the year, what is on your TO DO List ?  You can pick as many or as few as you like from this list plus add on your own comments too.  What can we learn or improve on together in 2015?

I have that very same “Amazing Fit” pattern you show above and would love a “sew along” for that.

I would like to feel confident with my serger as well as use stitches besides the overlock. Your bras are pretty even if they don’t fit quite right.

More about the bra making – I haven’t started mine yet!! Oh, you deserved all your accolades Deby and I, for one, am very pleased for you 🙂

Dear Deby,
Thanks for letting us help you! I hope you continue to inspire us with your awesome designs in fashion and simplicity of instruction and comfort of wear. You have lovely patterns and I would hope you still come up with some that are good for the average seamstress. I aspire to accomplish your more advanced patterns one day, but for now with limitations I relish your stylish ones that are, as already mentioned, comfortable and easy to make! With all that you want to teach us, please keep those coming as best as you can! They really are wonderful!!!
Thank you!
Danita

I would love some detailed information on how to shop for knits / which knits work best for which garments.

I REALLY need to learn to keep things neat in the sewing room while I’m sewing. I seem to only work on things so far – switch to something else – start something new – go back to original task … Makes for a messy work space.
Oh and I need to lock the door so the rest of the family doesn’t load it up with things they don’t know what to do with. Seem to spend the first 30 minutes putting stuff away in other rooms!

I really want to learn how to sew pants for my sons.

The skills I want to gain in 2015 (on top of using my serger, sewing knits, getting better with zippers) is to sew bra and swimwear with good support.

It would be nice if you could give easy to follow instructions on how to alter a patterns size. I have a lot of 1950’s patterns that I love but non of them would fit me if I made them.
