Do you need to get better organized?

Well, I certainly do.  I was running around the house the other day fretting about why my day was so hectic.  So many things to keep track of.  I'm sure you've had a similar feeling lately.  I thought technology was supposed to help with this with electronic checklists and the latest iPhone apps, but I find myself busier and more stressed than ever.

I wondered if there wasn't a way of sort of going back to basics and try to get my life better organized.  I remembered something my mother used to use, which was a wall organizer where she could put items for each child –she had five of her own after all and looked after a number of others– to keep them (and her) organized.

I figured I could design something pretty similar to what I remembered my mother using but first wanted to have a look around online to see if anyone had already done this.  Turns out that wall organizer sewing patterns are pretty popular and there are a lot of free sewing patterns online already.  So I decided to put together a list of the best and wanted to share with you as I often do.

If you've ever felt disorganized, one of these designs might be for you.  I hope you give it a try and let us know in the comments below how you went.

I will definitely be making some of these come this winter when I have more indoor time. Great ideas. Thanks

Until I saw this list of hanging wall organizers, I hadn’t even thought of it. I made two myself for extra needed storage in my teeny-tiny sewing room (my sewing room is so small you could fit a queen sized bed in there and only have room to walk beside it on either side). I made all different sizes of pockets to fit things. A very small bucket type pocket for a tape measure, taller upright ones for turning tubes and rulers, accordion pockets for fatter things like quilting gloves and hemming tape. Thank you for the wonderful idea – it has helped so much!
