If I could only keep one handmade thing in my kitchen, it would be an apron. They are fast to sew, they use up the prettiest scraps in the stash, and every single person you gift one to actually uses it. My grandmother wore hers from breakfast until the dinner dishes were done, and I am convinced half the reason her clothes lasted decades was that apron.
