Husqvarna Viking Jade 20 Giveaway Update

I just wanted to let everyone know that the Husqvarna Viking Jade 20 Giveaway is well underway.  In fact, it ends in less than a week when the winner will be announced on December 25.

Also, if you've followed any of our previous giveaways, you'll know we usually change the fabric selection with the “Tell Us What You'd Make With This” option to enter with a comment on the page a couple of times just to keep things interesting.

Well, we've just updated the fabric to a beautiful Rayon Challis Batik in blue color that has a smooth, soft and cool hand..  I think you'll really like this one.

Remember, please leave your comment on our site, not on Fabric.com to qualify.

Sewing Rayon, or is it Viscose?

If you'd like to learn some more about rayon, please check this article about rayon and viscose.

If you like batik, you can learn all about the Ancient Art of Batik Printing here:

If you haven't got any entries in yet, there's still time.  Don't miss out!

Batik can be tailored beautifully with the right underlining and interfacing. I have made soft flowing jackets with it, with buttons and without. Most people do not know
the beauty and possibilities of this fabric. It must be washed before attempting to
cut out a pattern but it is a lovely fabric to work with. I would make a tuxedo jacket
to wear with velvet pants for dinner or the holidays.

It is a lovely beautiful fabric – not sure what I would make with it though – I hate having to dry clean, so it would have to be a non wearable. Maybe in a wall hanging..

After reading on how Batik print is made, I would need a several yards of the Rayon challis Batik in blue as the possibilities are truly endless. I’d like to make it into framed art work for my sewing room or a wall tapestry, a gorgeous free flowing retro 90’s long sleeved button up, collard blouse with matching bell bottom flowy pants, a long wrap that can be worn 3ways and matching slippers. Thanks for the inspiration.
