In the Spirit of “No Good Deed Goes Unpunished” –FREE Pattern for Everyone!

THIS GIVEAWAY OFFER IS NOW CLOSED.  PLEASE CHECK BACK FREQUENTLY FOR FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES.

Hi Everyone, in the spirit of “no good deed goes unpunished”, I want to make this super popular pattern free to everyone for the next week.

Sometimes I'm tempted to believe that rather cynical phrase “no good deed goes unpunished”, but in the end, I get far more motivation and inspiration from our many, many supporters than I do from the occasional detractor.

We recently launched a new platform called Ko-Fi that would allow our supporters to make small, one-off, or even on-going donations to help out our site.  These funds allow us to continue to produce free sewing patterns and other sewing related content on a weekly basis.

Introducing Ko-Fi (pronounced like “coffee”) –a Great Way to Support Our Site

The response has been overwhelming with many, many readers contributing support.  Frankly, I've been stunned, so naturally, I wanted to do something in return.

To thank all these lovely readers, I offered one of our most popular paid patterns, the Ultimate Wallet Pattern which sells normally for $6.95, to supporters for at no cost.

The intent was not to sell the pattern but to thank readers for supporting us and to encourage new readers to do so if they felt it appropriate and they could afford it.

As seems to often be the situation, however, you can't make all the people happy all the time.  While many were very gracious and appreciative, there were some readers who complained that the pattern wasn't free to everyone or that it was a quid pro quo to sell the pattern in exchange for the support so it wasn't free —which was simply not the case.

To the readers who chose to support us over on Ko-Fi and especially those who were generous enough to make on-going contributions, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.  You're awesome!   It is your support, kind messages, and your on-going passion for the art and craft of sewing are what motivates me and gets me up in the morning and keeps me working late at night.

Please follow the link below (just under the large, red arrow) to directly download the PDF pattern.

Happy Sewing, Mayra

Hi Mary, this has already passed, check your email for this type of deals, normally they only last 24 hours then it goes back to the original price.

I think you can’t make everyone happy, PERIOD. I can’t tell you how many times I have put in my email to get the same exact try for a drawing and yes you can get the free pattern download. But I don’t believe I’m ever going to make that bag. I like it but I don’t want to sew a bag. You have a fun site , great give aways and I would like to make one of your patterns of the zipper pouch you made the video tutorials for last year. I’m going to try it when I have more skill. I enjoy your upbeat nature. And beyond that people just LOVE TO HAVE SOMETHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT. Take care, God Bless Debbie Croal

Thank you for sharing this pattern for free!
It’s got everything I’ve been looking for in an ‘ultimate’ wallet, and I can’t wait to get started on this project!
I hope one day I can be as accomplished a sewist as you both are!
Thank you for all your hard work and creativity – it inspires me!

Thank you for your generosity. Don’t let those people who think they should always get something for nothing bother you. It is common practice to offer freebies to supporters as incentive and thanks and there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s your pattern and your hard work and you can choose who to give it to, even if that is only people who’s name start with J, only supporters, or no one at all. Don’t let those people bully you into anything.

You have been doing so much for everyone. It’s sad that receive critical and crabby comments from anyone. Please don’t let that bother you, although that can be a challenge. There are so many of us who appreciate your efforts!

Thank you for the free pattern. I’m sorry you had to endure those ungrateful messages. Why do some people think you should work for free? I bet they wouldn’t apply the same principle to themselves.

Thank you for this pattern and so many others. You have a heart of gold and everyone should appreciate all that you have given us for free. It is your livelihood and charging for patterns is how your business thrives, however you do it. No one should question that. It was so nice of you to reward your paying clients. They are supporting your business and helping you stay afloat. Maybe you are too kind as it seems people expect free all the time because of it. I was sad you caved in to those who complained. We should all donate for this great pattern to show our appreciation for all you do. A cup of coffee, bacon and eggs, pancakes or whatever. You deserve it. These are trying times and you need our support. Thanks for everything. You are the best.
