Introducing Ko-Fi (pronounced like “coffee”) –a Great Way to Support Our Site

Many readers have been asking us about ways they can help support the site.  I think we've found a good way and I'd like to tell you about it.

The vast majority of the content we produce in the form of free sewing patterns, sewing tips & tricks, quilting articles, and other sewing related content is absolutely free.  We try to release a new, free sewing pattern or project every week on Sunday and if you're a long term follower, you'll recognize this.

We have a small number of paid sewing patterns still for sale on Bluprint but we haven't charged for a new pattern in years preferring to make our content free so everyone, no matter their means, can enjoy it.  Given the current economic issues, I think that this is more important than ever.

We've released some very, very popular free patterns over the years that many of you have hopefully enjoyed.  You can see a good list of our many free sewing patterns here.

I'm pleased to announce we've joined a new platform called Ko-fi (pronounced like “coffee”) that lets supporters give one-time or ongoing donations to support creative sites like outs.  It's a little like Patreon and SubscribeStar, which are pretty well known, but Ko-Fi is more geared to one-off donations –although you can certainly give on-going support as well.  That would be fantastic!  Unlike the other platforms, Ko-Fi also takes no commission on the way through either, which is great.

If You'd Like To Support Our Site

If you want to help us continue to bring you a wide selection of free sewing patterns, projects, and articles like this, please consider buying us a coffee to keep us going.  We'd really, really appreciate it.

We've been trialing this for a few weeks now and I've been truly humbled and inspired by the level of support already and the kindness of the comments from so many readers.  I thank you from the bottom of my heart.  You all really make me want to get up in the morning and keep creating!

In the future, we hope to be able to provide fun little extras to all our supporters on Ko-Fi.com just so show our appreciation.  Please stay tuned and we will notify you about these over on the Ko-Fi platform.

Hi there! I’ve donated as a quest as I can’t remember my log in password! I’ll sort that out later…. I’ve always loved your chat, patterns and information and I’ve been following you for ages – in a nice way!!! I hope you raise enough to keep going! Sewing is getting me through the lockdown here in the UK.

HI As,ky I took over SSE in late 2015, around 32 people walked out of the chat in anger because I bought the site with all the social media. Since then I have not released any pattern for sale 4 free patterns a month for almost 5 years. So thank you for your support!

Hi Irene, you need a credit card, Stripe or Pay Pal account. You log into Ko-Fi and then make your donation.

I did not know that as a guest you can do that, and I must say I wish you let me know who you are, I do appreciate your kindness very much and it is not possible to tell you that as a guest, thank you for your support, now I know who you are.

I know what people are talking about, I have been on 2 different emails from your site and I have yet to find any green arrow. I have donated and been logged in both times. The only arrow I see in this email is a large curved yellow arrow. Maybe I’m crazy. Don’t give up, there is a link supplied that I was able to find a red arrow and download the terrific pattern. Thank you for the pattern.

Your ad said free wallet pattern, but I was unable to find it. I tried to look at another one but there was so much stuff to download before I could even see what i was looking for , I just quit. You need to amke what your ad says available if you want a person to come back.
Thank you

I love it. I’ve donated as well.

You gals should also develop more patterns to sell. You have some really nice styles, and the prices you’ve charged are very reasonable.
