Is your style more functional than fussy? Like to carry a small bag without being laden down with weight and unnecessary items? Or have a special guy and you'd like to make something just for him? Then I have the ideal pattern for you – the Minimalist Kraft Tex Wallet.

You've seen me talk about Kraft Tex before in these articles:

Now here is a new pattern for you to try out the Kraft Tex paper fabric if you've not used it yet. The Minimalist wallet is slim, light weight and simple in style – perfect for you to add your own touches with personalisation, embroidery, stamping, embossing or painting.

Materials needed for the Minimalist Kraft Tex Wallet:

  • Kraft Tex paper fabric (or real leather is great too)
  • Matching thread
  • Heavier weight needle (size 90 or leather needle) recommended
  • 1 x snap (I used a KAM snap)
  • Scoring/folding/marking tool such as a bone folder
  • Craft knife
  • Wonder Clips (optional)
  • You will need a free-arm sewing machine because part of the wallet is sewn in a cylinder, like a sleeve cuff.

Thank you for the free pattern. The design of the wallet has good bones & lends itself to all tastes – understated & elegant to gaudy & flashy. Love it. 🙂

Very kind of you to offer the pattern.

Probably not a good idea to show your credit cards in the video, especially when you take the one out of the pocket and the account number and name is visible.

thanks so much for the free pattern. Nice christmas pattern! I wonder if it could be made in ripstop nylon or water proof pack cloth, codura nylon, or something waterproof?

Thanks for the free pattern. The wallet looks good and I like the straightforward design – anyone could carry this. I also like the fact that the surface pockets could be used for things like loyalty cards, whilst the pockets beneath could be used to hide credit and debit cards. I’m going to experiment with lining the outer panel with foil to provide some signal blocking . . . 🙂

this looks great! A wonderful place to get leather, cheap, is the goodwill or other thrift shops. look for leather/suede skirts, vests, pants that you can take apart and turn into fun projects.
