Love this tablet bag pattern.. Nice and padded, separate pocket for the tablet, stylish, and a big zipper pocket in back for charger, wallet, etc. This is going everywhere with me!

More about the Tech Tote

The padded tech bag is designed for your tablet or reader, and carries it in safety along with a zipper pocket in the back for your charger, phone, wallet and more.  It's roomy enough to carry a tablet but smart enough to use as a purse.  Tablet or tech is optional – it’s a great bag without it!

As usual the step by step video instructions will show you how to get a great finish in easy steps, and all the options you can consider along the way.

A look at the Multi-purpose Tech or Tablet Bag Pattern

Take a look at the pattern tester versions and feedback

Jane – This bag looks adorable and really functional. It seemed like a quick fun sew.
I loved the look of the single grommet.  Using multi-directional prints would be great for this pattern.  The zipper in this pattern was a dream to put in! Any beginning sewer who doesn't think they can put in a zipper should try this pattern. With little effort you get big results. Very nice!   This useful bag turns out very nicely. Very sweet pattern!

Jane

Diane D – I love the look of this bag: it has sleek, simple lines, lies flat against the body, an easy grommet closure & zippered pocket; plus it doubles as a tech bag or a sweet little cross-body purse. What's not to love!  Deby, this was my favourite bag so far. I will be making it again!

Diane D

Sarah  I am going to need to make several of these. Now what type of handles do I want to add to it – could be different every time.

Sarah

Emma – I love the simplicity of the design and the size is perfect.  I made the pink camo version intended for my niece, but I like it so much I'm tempted to keep it!  I put a webbing adjustable strap for a cross-body style.  I tried mine without the grommet and added a closure tab and velcro to the flap instead.  Very versatile.

Emma

Louise – I liked it. Holds the iPad even in its case.  I made this in a laminated fabric to make it waterproof and in a fabric even my husband will carry.

Louise

Robin at the Pattern Tester – I was very excited to make the multi-purpose tech bag. It's very stylish with the addition of the grommet on the front flap, and the possibilities are endless with the use of different fabrics and strap choices. I don't have an iPad, or e-reader, but I would use this bag for books, or maybe I need to get a new tech gadget. 🙂

Robin

Linda – I just loved that pattern. As you can see on the picture, my Ipad fits nicely in it even if my Ipad has a protective case over it. I will be making this again for sure. Great idea for gifts. Thanks Deby for a great and original pattern.

Linda

Sara at Made by Sara– This bag is wonderful! I love it!  Some steps are a bit tricky but overall it is fun to make!  I had trouble finding large grommets so I used small ones (only 1/2”) for mine, and then closed it with a bow.

Do you have any patterns for making bags out of used but empty and clean bird seed bags? I love the colorful graphics on the large sturdy plastic material and want to make a bag out of my ‘recycled’ bird seed bags….! thank you, sara b

This pattern is absolutely brilliant !!!! I don’t usually buy patterns – the last
one I bought was absolutely terrible (not here) and I was not going to
waste my money again. I saw a a pic of this tech bag and fell in love with
it – so I ordered it on Thursday and today (Sat) I have made 3 !!! What a
fabulous pattern and the way it is put together is brilliant.
I would recommend this pattern to EVERYONE !!!
