I've already seen many of the projects that are coming your way over the next few weeks, and I've been amazed at the quality of both the projects and the tutorials. Puts my little project to shame! I'm kicking us off today with something very quick and simple you can make for the festive season – a quick and simple key fobs tutorial.
These are great to make at this time of year. These really do take just minutes to make and are inexpensive. A quick and easy project for:
- Valentine's Day presents
- birthday gifts
- party favors
- earning a little extra cash on Etsy
- practical, we all need them
There are so many pretty ribbons available in so many designs, that if you want to make these on a specific theme you can do. How about for sports fans, cat lovers, or coffee addicts – you can find a ribbon to suit them all.

I’m planning on making a Pyjama storing dragon for my nephew.
What a great idea. I used to have this cat pyjama case when I was little, loved that thing.
I’m hoping to make a few decorative pillows.
I’ll be doing Christmas ornaments this year (well, I do every year), and I also have some pillowcases to make. I enjoy making things by hand to give as gifts. 🙂

My boys are getting Cars pillow cases, and a few pair of pants for their growing legs.
These key fobs are great. I think I’ll make these with my eleven year old step daughter for her friend gifts.
I’m probably going to make some christmas themed aprons and some stuffed stocking christmas tree decorations!
Should have said, I plan to sew some velvet trousers for my daughter to wear on Christmas Day as she refuses to wear dresses!

Super cute key fobs! My main holiday project is to make my daughter a nice dress to wear for Santa pictures.
Quilt bowls, makeup bags and stuffed animals are on my holiday DIY list.

This is a great idea – my son is now carrying his own house key and seems to loose his key fob on a regular basis. I can see a few of these in his stocking.
