I wrote a book! Well, to be fair it was mostly already written and I made it into a book. My Sew a Skirt – beginners tutorial series sewing ebook is launched and for sale on Craftsy.
It contains all of the lessons from the Sew A Skirt series together with the full instructions on how to draft your custom fit skirt pattern. In the future, I hope to expand upon this basic skirt pattern to show other options for how it can be adapted to other styles and shapes while still keeping the custom fit. So this book would be good to have and keep so you could refer to it later.
And of course if you haven't made your skirt yet – get this book and start sewing!

But I'm not asking you to pay for it – I have a special offer day on Wednesday 23rd October when this book will be available for FREE DOWNLOAD from Amazon.
Put a note in your diary for 23rd October, and come back to this post to click on the links – on that day the book will be a free download. If you like it, then it would also help me if you were kind enough to go to Amazon and leave a nice review too, as this might encourage sales in the future.
Thanks for reading, downloading and reviewing. Enjoy the book.
Hi sadly missed the date for the free download, you are very generous and I think your patterns are really good, I am subscribing to your blog.
love angel xxx
The book is really just a round up of the posts and information in the Sew A Skirt series, so even if you didn’t get the book to download, all of the information is still available on the site. Start here -Sew A Skirt Series- and you can find all the posts listed there. I hope this helps and I’d love to see what you make!
Congratulations on your new e-book! I’m so dissappointed that I missed the opportunity to try one out for free. It’s been a long time since I have sewn anything, and I’ve only been sewing for a couple of years spazmodically, but the green version of your skirt really got my attention. Perhaps I will have to give it a go!
Looking forward to seeing more of your designs.

If you didn’t get the book version, the content is still all here on the website about how to sew the skirts Sheree. Just start at the page for the Sew A Skirt Beginners Series, and follow through all of the lessons. Good luck with it.
Thank you for the Free book Deby! It is the first book I have ever gotten online so I am really looking forward to looking at it! Thanks again for all your hard work as well!
Congratulations, hope it appears on UK site at some point, amazon won’t let me get it through .com site as I am registered in UK. Hope you show a sampling here. Congrats again!
I also have a UK registered Amazon account and I can download it ok Sheila. There is a box over on the right hand side which says something along the lines of *Kindle titles are available for UK customers on Amazon.co.uk.
Continue shopping on the Kindle Store at Amazon.co.uk.
Click on the link to the UK store and it should come up for free there too. Assuming it’s not past midnight already! Still showing as free to the UK at the time of writing this comment. Good luck.
Thank you so very much, just downloaded and had a quick read through, LOVE IT!!!!! What great photos and clear instructions. Thank you again.
Congratulations on your book and thanks so much for the free download! I don’t get here very often but happened to today. Your tutorials are very helpful and instructions are clear. Thanks again!
Thank you so much xxx
Sorry to be so dense…so if you don’t have a Kindle you can’t download the book?
Yes you can still download it to a PC – Amazon do a small program you download to the PC which means it can ‘read’ or display books that would otherwise be on a Kindle device. That’s how I see my own book because I don’t own a swanky book-reader. You can find it at Kindle for PC
Thank you, I don’t own any kind of reader either, I had to create an account at Amazon and I was able to download. another stupid question, I don’t see where I can print it out since my computer is not near my sewing machine. Can I print it out?
I had not considered that. It seems the easy answer is No, although you can copy and paste to a Word document on your PC and print from there, whatever parts you want to refer to.
I found it in a lower post.
thank you for your generosity in giving us this book. you are an amazing woman! God bless you!
Thanks so much for offering this for free! And grats on writing an ebook!
Thanks for the free book on Kindle, Deby. I have been reading it this morning and will put it on my list of must make patterns. It is very well writeen, with clear directions and helpful photos. I don’t have a Kindle, but it lets me read it on my computer in a Kindle Library. I have bookmarked it so I can find it again. Thank you for this generous gift.
Yes, they have a Kindle for PC app which means I also read Kindle titles this way. So even if you don’t have a fancy reader, you can see the book on your PC. Thanks for making this comment to let everyone know. Thanks for downloading Donna.
I don’t have a Kindle and need the free one for the PC. Help! Where do I go Deby?
Thank you!
Thank you Deby for the FREE ebook (from Amazon.it is available, you just have to search it!), and thanks for linking up at the Pinterest Power Party that I’m co-hosting today!

Thank you for the book! I am in the Netherlands and had no problem downloading it. Great visuals and tips, now even I will be able to make a great skirt.
Hi Deby,
Congratulation to your first book. I ´d love to use the opportunity to download it. Unfortunately I can´t because Amazon don´t allow it with my German account 🙁 🙁 🙁
Oh, sorry to hear that Jessica. I sometimes run into difficulty with Amazon too because my account was registered in the UK. Although I set the book as free for today everywhere, sometimes Amazon have different ideas!
I’ve sent it to you on email Jessica.
Hi Deby, thank you very, very, very much for your email. With this you made me a very nice birthday present. 😉
I do not think it is Amazon´s fault. As far as I know the publishing rights in Germany are very special and maybe the issue here.
I will give it a try to write a review anyway.
Cheers,
Jessica
Congratulations on your book! I had printed out your blog pages for the skirt tutorial as you went along. I wanted it for future references for when I sew the skirt, but I definitely will order the book. Thanks for your clear instructions and fun blog.
Congratulations and TFS the eBook on Wednesday!!
