Surprise Pattern Giveaway: $5.95 Colby Bag FREE Today Only!

Unfortunately, THIS OFFER HAS NOW EXPIRED.  Please check back and join our mailing list as we announce these sorts of special giveaways frequently.

Well, Black Friday is upon us at last.  This is a time when all the retailers put their wares on sale and do everything they can to get you to buy.  There are indeed some excellent sales around like the big Craftsy sale where every class is only $17.87 or less so this can really be one of the best times to buy.

However, we're going to do things a little differently and celebrate the day by actually giving away one of our most popular bag patterns ever:  The Coby Bag.  Normally, sold for $5.95, this 5-star rated pattern and tutorial is absolutely FREE.

But please act today, this gift is only available for the next 24 hours!

You don't need to do it to receive this free gift, if you do plan to buy any of the great Craftsy classes on sale this weekend, we'd really appreciate it if you used our link when you buy.  It won't cost you a cent more and well make a small commission to help us continue to do great giveaways like this one.

The Colby Bag is a versatile purse with hardware and strap options and a design which is great to showcase a large scale print.  Suitable for beginners, this easy bag won't take you long to sew.

Unlike many similar projects, this design has no pattern pieces to print so it's very easy, even for those without a printer.

Pattern rating = Beginner

This project can be made in a quilting weight cotton for a practical and hard-wearing finish or in a sumptuous silk or satin if you want something more exotic.

Features of the Colby Bag:

  • Shiny grommets and hardware bring you bang up to date with this year's ‘metallics' trend
  • Two straps – make one, the other or both
  • Shorter fixed shoulder strap
  • Longer removable cross-body strap
  • Simple construction
  • No pattern pieces to print
  • Two simple slip pockets inside
  • Finished size 11 ½” x 13”

Thank you so much for the pattern and the good guiding to sewing the bag!
    One question:
it seems like the rings goes trough two grommets, one from each side?
would´nt that make it hard to open the bag? Or do I see it wrong? Should it be one ring for each grommet?
