We’re sorry..

we're sorryLast week when we launched Faviola, the “housewife” summer dress, the design and free pattern were so popular that our server crashed.  We simply couldn't keep up with the traffic unfortunately and we received a few emails from frustrated readers who couldn't access the site or who experienced very slow response times.  For this, we sincerely apologize.

The So Sew Easy website has grown considerably over the last few months –so much so that we grew out of our server.  We're serving over 1 million pages of content to over 400,000 users each month.  Last week when launched the popular pattern, a large number of these users all wanted to view the article at the same time and our systems just couldn't handle it.

What we have done about it

During the week this week, we DOUBLED the size of our server and made significant improvements to our CDN (content delivery network) that has made the site much, much faster and responsive.

Please go ahead and click on a few extra pages this week to check it out.  We're VERY confident that you will now find the site much faster and more responsive.  Going forward, we'll do a better job of monitoring the server capacity as the site grows to make sure this doesn't happen again.

Thanks so much for your support.

I’m sure it’s partly my fault because I immediately pinned it as soon as I read the article. 😉

As a part time blogger, I really appreciate the work you put in to each and every post. I am so sorry that some of your readers were so rude as to complain about not receiving something you offered for free! Please keep up the great work!

I must agree with Jane, nobody should complain about having to wait for something that is free, because there certainly isn’t that much free these days. Thanks so much for your work, time and creativity. I truly enjoy your patterns.

So sorry you received complaints and had to explain the delay for followers receiving FREE patterns. I for one am very grateful for all of the work you do.

Wow, your site is popular. How can anyone complain about something that’s free and so enjoyable? Thank you for giving me joy and feeding my passion.

Got excited about the pattern and had every intention to download it, but the server is very, very slow, and I gave up. Even scrolling was more than slow.

Wow, that’s great that you guys are growing so fast! Sorry to hear about the nasty emails. It’s pretty crazy people feel entitled to do that.

So glad to hear of your success! I’m glad you and Deby are finally getting the recognition for your great work! Congratulations! 🙂
