I'm so delighted to be able to offer you some free fabric today, from one of the long time supporters of this site. The lovely Susan at the Smuggler's Daughter is offering you the chance to pick fabric of your choice in this giveaway.
About the Smuggler's Daughter
I think it's fair to say that Susan has had an ‘interesting' life. Check out her story and why she chose the name for her store on her About page. Don't stop there though, because her site has many fabric delights to tempt you. She specialises in top quality designer fabrics for garment sewing.
You'll find all kinds of very fine fabrics on her site that you won't commonly find elsewhere with new fabrics being offered regularly. I like how she displays the fabrics on a dress form, so you can see the drape and the scale of the print easily and imagine how they would look in your sewing project.
She features the finest in:
- Knits
- Designer fabrics
- Eco-friendly fabrics
- Silk
- Cotton and Linen
- Home decor fabrics
and LOTS more.
Do check out the Blog too, for some interesting sewing articles and pattern reviews.

I like the silk fabric: Suno Cabernet Grapes on the Vine. I would make a wrap top with it.
I love the Gentle Giraffe fabric, I would use it in a quilt for my oldest son!
Love the Kate Boggiano – Plum Double Sided Knit!
Yea, another chance at a giveaway! Thank you! I love all the fabrics, it’s hard to just pick one. 🙂 But if I had to pick just one, I would pick the Salmon colored fabric. I would make a skirt with it.
gorgeous fabrics and very generous giveaway.i would pick san clememte sunsets for a quilt.
Thanks for the opportunity to win. Always on lookout for knit fabrics. What a yummy selection at Smuggler’s Daughter.
Wow so many beautiful fabrics, hard to make a selection…
The color and drape of Stick Framed Houses really caught my eye! I would make a gorgeous blouse for myself with this lovely fabric.
I love sweater knit, so the Mod Squad sweater knit is my pick.
Thanks for the chance to win!
Since I don’t sew garments I would choose something from the quilting cottons section. Lovely fabrics, too.
I love Susan’s story; how she came from such difficult beginnings and has done so well with her life. I would love to make a dress with Eileen Fisher – Best Blue Violet Ponte.
So many pretties from Smuggler’s Daughter for my stash!
Just love the lightweight Electric Storm knit. A beautiful pattern for a long sleeve swing top.
I would love to win! Would love all these fabrics!
Thank you…fingers crossed. Would love some silk!
So many beautiful fabrics that it’s hard to choose one. I recently moved to upstate NY and am in need of some warmer clothes…I think the Freckled Italian Sweater Knit would be perfect to create something cozy!
Hard to pick one, but since I tend to wear knits most, I love the double sided black/gray mid-weight knit. Also love the burgundy/black knit… Think those would be great for simple, though stylish dresses, maybe your princess seamed dress? Still love that pattern even though I didn’t find the right fabric yet…
Some wool for a winter skirt might be great too…
How to choose? It can’t be done, but I can narrow it down a bit. Given that winter is coming, a tunic in the Tahari Double-sided knit would get a lot of wear. And the Theory embroidered gauze would make a fabulous Archer dress to wear on a winter holiday. Finally, who could resist a fabric named Zombie Eyes?
Id use the circles game knit for something I’m sure
Mod Squad Sweater Knit
Theory – Embroidered Cotton Guaze Eyelet would make a nice low-back blouse.
So many to choose from! I like the Eco-Lemon Chiffon Chevrons and Theory – Black Denim. Thanks!
Theory – Gold Strike Knit looks like something I would want to wear year round. I would use as part of a top with kimono sleeves.
I love the burnout paisley knit and would love to make a dress with it.

I love knit fabric so I’d love to win some to make something for myself.
Fresh Produce – She Loves Me Floral Knit is my favorite.
I like the Anna Sui sweater knits. The print reminds me of sweater dresses of my childhood.
Love the black-and-white circles fabric–would make a great dress!
I love Chico’s – A Thousand Suns Knit, would make a great kimino type top.
Problem here–there are so many beautiful fabrics! How do ya pick just one?
Lovely fabric there! I’d opt for a knit to make up one of your dress patterns.
Yay! Thanks for the chance to win!
great fabrics.
I like Summer Picnic – I think it would make a cute skirt or perhaps a bag.
Would love these fabrics!
What gorgeous fabrics! Thanks for having the giveaway.
I don’t know that I have a favorite but I know that I’d make a maxi dress or a tunic as I’m missing both of those in my wardrobe.
Ow ! I saw some great fabrics in your blogpost !
Karen Kane-Cresting Night Waves looks beautiful for a top and forgiving enough in the design to hide any sewing issues.
