don't leave clips on your vinyl overnight or long term as they can leave an impression in the spongy material.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Presser feet<\/strong> &#8211; The most often heard problem with sewing vinyl is that it can feel &#8216;sticky' when under pressure from the presser foot and doesn't feed through your machine smoothly. \u00a0You can eliminate this problem entirely by just sewing on the reverse side where it's usually backed with fabric and will feed through without a problem, if you keep the vinyl away from the machine bed and presser foot. \u00a0That won't work for this bag coming up because we need to topstitch on the vinyl side so you'll need to consider what presser foot to use.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B00326993S\/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00326993S&linkCode=as2&tag=soseea-20&linkId=NK55JCX76EMZ2QZ2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20134 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/so-sew-easy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/6116W4wJspL._SL1000_b.jpg\" alt=\"6116W4wJspL._SL1000_b\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/so-sew-easy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/6116W4wJspL._SL1000_b.jpg 400w, https:\/\/so-sew-easy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/6116W4wJspL._SL1000_b-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/so-sew-easy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/6116W4wJspL._SL1000_b-150x150.jpg 150w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 400px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 400\/400;\" \/><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20134\" src=\"https:\/\/so-sew-easy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/6116W4wJspL._SL1000_b.jpg\" alt=\"6116W4wJspL._SL1000_b\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/so-sew-easy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/6116W4wJspL._SL1000_b.jpg 400w, https:\/\/so-sew-easy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/6116W4wJspL._SL1000_b-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/so-sew-easy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/6116W4wJspL._SL1000_b-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/noscript><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I bought this\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B00326993S\/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00326993S&linkCode=as2&tag=soseea-20&linkId=NK55JCX76EMZ2QZ2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Teflon coated foot<\/a>\u00a0and was just waiting for the right time to use it, and it was superb. \u00a0Smooth as butter with no sticky feeling at all. \u00a0You can also use a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/s\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?_encoding=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&field-keywords=roller%20foot&linkCode=ur2&linkId=66b1808dc0385f796077680d6629f94e&rh=n%3A2617941011%2Ck%3Aroller%20foot&sprefix=roller%20foot%2Caps%2C189&tag=soseea-20&url=search-alias%3Darts-crafts&linkId=WYJHHOSSX5LJEYUE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">roller foot<\/a>\u00a0too, although I've not tried that myself.<\/p>\n<p>Don't have either and don't feel like getting one? \u00a0Then your next best option that should get you through this project is to coat the bottom of your regular presser foot with something to stop the metal coming into contact with the vinyl. \u00a0Stick a couple of pieces of MATTE sticky tape or painters tape to the bottom and it should work OK &#8211; not as well as using the <a href=\"https:\/\/so-sew-easy.com\/l\/teflon_foot\" title=\"Amazon.com: Distinctive Non-Stick Sewing Machine Presser Foot - Fits All Low Shank Snap-On Singer*, Brother, Babylock, Euro-Pro, Janome, Kenmore, White, Juki, New Home, Simplicity, Elna and More!\" class=\"pretty-link-keyword\">Teflon foot<\/a>, but I think you'll be fine.<\/p>\n<p>A reader has recently suggested using <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/1pQgkoF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">teflon coated tape<\/a>, which sounds like a pretty good idea. \u00a0The tape looks durable and is supposed to give the same sort of non-stick properties that a <a href=\"https:\/\/so-sew-easy.com\/l\/teflon_foot\" title=\"Amazon.com: Distinctive Non-Stick Sewing Machine Presser Foot - Fits All Low Shank Snap-On Singer*, Brother, Babylock, Euro-Pro, Janome, Kenmore, White, Juki, New Home, Simplicity, Elna and More!\" class=\"pretty-link-keyword\">teflon foot<\/a> is supposed to provide. \u00a0I haven't tried it but if anyone out there can give it a try and let us know in the comments below, it would be greatly appreciated.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20142 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/so-sew-easy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/vinyl-002b.jpg\" alt=\"OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA\" width=\"550\" height=\"413\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/so-sew-easy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/vinyl-002b.jpg 550w, https:\/\/so-sew-easy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/vinyl-002b-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/so-sew-easy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/vinyl-002b-500x375.jpg 500w, https:\/\/so-sew-easy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/vinyl-002b-150x113.jpg 150w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 550px;
