\u00a0Now you have a big sheet about 23 inches wide by 6ft. \u00a0You can roll it back up again afterwards &#8211; this stuff will last you for years!<\/p>\n<p>I use the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B002VXXF4C\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B002VXXF4C&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=soseea-20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Red Transfer Paper<\/a> for tracing patterns to the white paper, and I love the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B0027AENYK\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B0027AENYK&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=soseea-20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">White Transfer Paper<\/a> for tracing directly onto dark fabrics or for transferring pattern markings or stitching lines onto fabrics. \u00a0If you have a light fabric you can use the red paper to mark &#8211; both will wash out &#8211; but if in doubt or you have an expensive fabric, please test them on a scrap first.<\/p>\n<p>5 &#8211; Find yourself a large flat and hard surface like the dining table or a hardwood floor. \u00a0Now we need to make a sandwich. \u00a0On the bottom goes your white paper from the roll &#8211; I like this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B009P8D6HC\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B009P8D6HC&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=soseea-20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Massage\/Medical Table Paper<\/a> that I got from Amazon. \u00a0It's not expensive, you get a lot on the roll and it's strong enough to make a decent pattern that you can use to check fit (see later).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3294 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/so-sew-easy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Tracing-patterns-008.jpg\" alt=\"How to trace off Burda pattern, vintage patterns and multi-size patterns the EASY way - by So Sew Easy.\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/so-sew-easy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Tracing-patterns-008.jpg 400w, https:\/\/so-sew-easy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Tracing-patterns-008-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/so-sew-easy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Tracing-patterns-008-150x113.jpg 150w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 400px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 400\/300;\" \/><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3294\" src=\"https:\/\/so-sew-easy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Tracing-patterns-008.jpg\" alt=\"How to trace off Burda pattern, vintage patterns and multi-size patterns the EASY way - by So Sew Easy.\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/so-sew-easy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Tracing-patterns-008.jpg 400w, https:\/\/so-sew-easy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Tracing-patterns-008-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/so-sew-easy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Tracing-patterns-008-150x113.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p>6 &#8211; Now on top of the white paper place the transfer paper with the transfer side down, and on top of that line up your pattern sheet face up.<\/p>\n<p>7 &#8211; Set your <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B00292BPII\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B00292BPII&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=soseea-20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Clover Double Tracing Wheel<\/a>. \u00a0A standard seam allowance is 5\/8th of an inch, but if you have a preference you can set the width differently. Also use the tracing wheel on the single setting to mark any pattern markings such as darts or notches. \u00a0You can use the end of a knitting needle or something similar if there are other markings such as circles.<\/p>\n<p>10 &#8211; Adjust your sandwich and trace the rest of the pattern pieces. \u00a0It's pretty quick once you get going. \u00a0Write the pattern number\/issue number\/front\/back etc on the new pattern pieces to help you identify them.<\/p>\n<p>12 &#8211; Now we want to quickly test that we have the correct size before cutting out your fabric, and with this medical paper which is much stronger than the usual pattern tissue paper, you can 'tissue fit' the pattern to your body to see approximately how it might look\/fit.<\/p>\n<p>You can either use the pattern pieces as they are and make up half the garment, or make copies of the pieces you need two of, and make up a\u00a0complete\u00a0mock up &#8211;
