With the warmer months approaching, at least for those of you in the northern hemisphere, it's time to think about keeping things cool when it gets hot outside. There's no simpler way to do this than with using insulated fabric when you sew.

Insulation works by reducing heat transfer between objects by either reflecting thermal that is radiated or by decreasing heat conduction or convection. That all sounds complicated, but it really just all about reducing the movement of heat. When using insulated fabric to keep something warm, a common misconception is that the insulation keeps the cold out, but in reality, it stops the movement of heat out and keeps the item warm.
