Hello everyone! Just earlier this year we passed 200K subscribers on YouTube. This celebration post is a little late, but for some reason, the first half of this year has just flown by.
Aside from giving a huge thank-you to all our readers and subscribers I want to talk a little bit about the future of So Sew Easy and how we want to improve.
But first, let's take a look at some of our most popular videos on the channel and share some interesting behind-the-scenes info you might not know.

I'm sure any long-time viewer will have noticed, the YouTube channel has been dormant for some time now. Don't worry this will be changing soon (we'll talk about that more in the section below)! So how is it possible that the channel continues to grow? This is a good example of a principle called “Evergreen Content”.
The term describes posts, videos, and any other material that is intended to be useful for years and decades in the future. This is important to understand for any aspiring creators out there, as Evergreen Content is rarely the most trendy or viral, but much like classic fashion, it stays relevant for so much longer.

Social Blade is a very cool tool that gives you live data for channels on social media. It's very useful if you're a creator to track your statistics (and your competitions), and as a viewer it lets you peek into some of the back-end of your favorite channels (you can see SSE YouTube here)

The Future Of So Sew Easy
This year has been and will continue to be a “Year Of More”. The business of blogging and free education has changed a lot over the last decade. The most important is that quality has continued to increase, and the number of blogs, videos, and posts needed to make the same impression has doubled or tripled. Advances like AI have made producing content quicker and easier than ever before, but competition and distraction are all the more common. On top of all that, a global slowdown is making a very noticeable impact in the ad world, with many creators seeing a halving in their regular income.
All this being said, the future looks very exciting for us. Over the next few months, we will be investing in bringing on a new writer and upgrading the studio for making videos again. We're also reaching out to some up-and-coming bloggers that we'd like the exchange posts with which will hopefully bring in some fresh new ideas.
