Sewing Tutorials
As I master a new technique or learn a new sewing skill, I like to share it with you, and keep a record here so I can remind myself again later on! I also love to record sewing videos, so do check out the video tutorials page as well.
Here are all of my sewing tutorials organised into one place. I hope you find what you are looking for.

Why can’t I search the web site tutorials for the name of a pattern
What pattern are you looking for?
Great post on sewing patterns!
Hello, where do I find the instructions for making the ‘Lucky blouse’ and the office blouse?
I am curious, if you did not print from the article where did you print the pattern from?
I have a pattern called “The Weekender bag” which is a pencil drawn pattern from your site and I cannot find the information for sewing it. It was a brown vinyl bottom and fabric at the top can you send me the link.
We do not have a weekender bag pattern, but it is an excellent suggestion.
Many for beginners include sewing machine parts and accessories like screws, embroidery needles, and rubber bands that you can use for sewing projects. Some books will give you detailed instructions on how to use the sewing machine and sewing fabrics.
Have you got a pattern as to how to make a fleece keyhole scarf pattern???
Hi Billie, although made out of fake fur, it is the same concept I bit fancier, I reckon…

Hi, Daniel, not sure what you mean? do you want to design some sweatpants? or do you want me to do it?
Is there a tutorial for refashioning a large scarf into a top? Either I missed it or something! I saw it on today or yesterday’s email but it was atop of the culottes pattern picture. Thanks

I am attempting the walking shorts pattern. It seems the hip measurements are way big! As my hip measures just 5 inches bigger than waist I’m thinking the very greater than 30 inches bigger in hips must be an error. I signed up to get the tutorials and didn’t see part two?
Is not an error, it is the way a designed them. So perhaps the pattern is not for your body type.
I can’t find the tutorial for the walking shorts pattern
It is a sew along and you need to register on our mailing list for it.
Hi Myra, at the end of Part 4 of the walking shorts, you mentioned that you would let us know how to sew up the cuffs but I can’t find that part. Thanks for any help.

These tutorials are AMAZING!!! Thanks for sharing this all for free! I would love to see a video about tips for sewing with knit fabrics, using a regular sewing machine and a serger for finishing. Do you have any plans to make a video for this?
Hi Susie, thanks for the suggestion, I am editing a video for a sport bra that will cover just that. Keep tuned in please.

I purchased the cross body purse pattern. I have not started the project yet, but reviewed the instructional video. I was very impressed. Clear, concise, and easy to follow. Thank you. Pleased to find such an interesting and informative resource site.

Here is the link Sandra – https://so-sew-easy.com/perfect-baby-burp-cloth-pattern/
If you need to find your way around in the future, there is a search box top right just under the menu. You can put a word or phrase in there such as ‘burp’ and it will show you all the relevant articles. Hope that helps.
Thank you so much for your simple, concise tutorials and beautiful illustrating pictures. So helpful for a new enthusiast like myself!!!
I have been reading your articles and watching your videos for about 3 yrs. I admire how you have blossomed in your efforts and grown in your skills. I would greatly appreciate if you would try drafting kids school uniforms. You most likely need a smaller Penelope, but I have no doubt you will find a way.I have been searching for a girls V neck pleated jumper pattern on line without success. Debby,I love your teaching style.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment, and for your kind words about the site. As much as I would like to help, I won’t be branching out into patterns for children. There are SO many sites that do patterns for kids already, plus I don’t have any models on which to test the clothes or model them. It just wouldn’t work, sorry. Can I suggest an article for you that might help – http://sergerpepper.com/2014/08/school-uniforms-best-pdf-patterns.html
