Important Janome Coverstitch Machine Giveaway Update

coverstitch machine giveawayI just wanted to let everyone know that the Janome Coverstitch Machine Giveaway is well underway.

Also, if you've followed any of our previous giveaways, you'll know we usually change the fabric selection with the “Tell Us What You'd Make With This” option to enter with a comment on the page a couple of times just to keep things interesting.

Well, we've just updated the fabric to a beautiful Art Gallery Wild Bloom Jersey Knit Flower Shower Subtle Turquoise Fabric made of 100% Rayon.  I think you'll really like this one.

For a fun article about the differences between viscose and Rayon, please check this out:

This Art Gallery Wild Bloom Jersey Knit is beautiful! I would make a maxi dress with long sleeves for my daughter if we had this fabric and a Cover stitch machine. I love sewing with knits but I rarely do it now since I don’t have a cover stitch machine. I’ve researched cover stitch machines for so long and I feel in love with this particular one. I’m a stay at home mom who homeschools my two oldest children. My daughter has asked me to teach a sewing class for her because she wants to learn to sew. I haven’t decided if I would since I don’t have a coverstitch machine to show her how to make the type of garments she likes. I also sew little blankets and nursing wraps for babies in NICUs and I would love to be able to make the items look more “store bought” rather than looking “home made”. I know how much time and energy go into these giveaways and I just want to say that if I won, the coverstitch would be put to good use on a daily bases. Sewing is something I’ve been doing for years and it’s my “happy place”. This coverstitch would impact my life, my daughter’s learning and also the families that receive my nursing covers and blankets. Sorry to ramble on, I know you have a lot of comments to read.

Swimwear, activewear, TShirts, Hems, anywhere a coverstitch comes in handy, for making professionally finished garments. With that fabric, either a wrap dress or perhaps the Faviola summer dress

Oh boy! I know EXACTLY what I would make with this ART GALLERY WILD BLOOM JERSEY KNIT FLOWER SHOWER fabric from FABRIC.COM using the 990 JANOME COVER STITCH MACHINE being given away at the SO-SEW-EASY.COM website.

I live in Arizona which is known for having warm weather pretty much all year. In Mesa, Arizona, not far from my home is a children’s home called Sunshine Acres Children’s Home. These sweet, little souls who live at Sunshine Acres have seen a side of life that no child should ever have to experience.

Nevertheless, a cozy, soft, personal, lightweight quilt/blanket could provide great, soothing comfort to these children.

Since it is not often needed for warmth, I would make a two-layer quilt with either no batting or very, very light weight batting inside. I would select the beautiful, bright, colorful, and happy ART GALLERY WILD BLOOM JERSEY KNIT FLOWER SHOWER FABRIC with either a soft washable satin or flannel backing.

In order to make these quickly, I would simply meet the two fabrics, wrong sides together. I would press a hem toward the backing side. Then I would use the double-needle, 990 JANOME COVER STITCH MACHINE to create a beautiful finished edge on the quilt-blanket.

What a joy this will bring to our children’s lives!

Beautiful fabric…except the link took me to a cotton/lycra blend. Whichever, I would use a jersey knit for one of those nifty free patterns on this site. Many of them feature knits.

Why do bloggers make it so complicated to enter a giveaway? UGH!!! I get overwhelmed with all the steps and then say ‘forget it’.

We dont make it complicated, it is the software we use to be able to keep track of all the entries (1789 for now), it is not cheap either a give away costs the blogger around 300 dollars to put together plus a minimum 16 hours of work when is all done. So yes there is more to just giving a machine for the blogger, so if you are not interested yes, you are not obliged to enter.
