Pattern tester versions
Becky – Very cute. Not too hard but takes some patience. I can get frustrated with patterns easily but this was pretty easy to follow. And it's really cute!
Theresa of the DIY Page – I really like how the wallet looks. I love the interior pockets. I made #1 with the regular cash pocket. On #2, I made the cash pocket the same depth as the wallet and my cell fits nicely there. Even if the wallet was slimmer, my cell would fit fine. I may add a snap at the top so it doesn't slip out. Theresa's tip – I made a template out of cardboard instead of using an old credit card. Since the template was longer than the slot, it really made folding go faster. I marked a half inch down from the top so I didn't need to measure that part again. I still found it useful to line my slots against the first one.
Robin at The Pattern Tester – I like all the features (card slots, cash pocket, coin purse, etc.) to have everything in one place. I don't carry much around with me, other than some loyalty cards, a debit card, cash, a few coins, iPhone, keys, and glasses, so something like this is perfect for me. I don't care for all the card slot pleats. I had to actually pull out some old cards to fill it up. Could easily eliminate them from the change purse pieces though if you didn't want so many. I like that the wallet can easily be customised to ones liking. This wallet will look great with all the pretty fabrics available, and I'm sure it will be a big hit!
Linda – I love all the spaces for cards. Also liked the size of the wallet as it is not too big to fit in a purse but can also by carried as a clutch to run a fast errand. However I would like to add a second zipper pouch so my cell phone is more secure. Thank you for a great pattern. Can make a nice gift. Everybody always need a nice wallet. Can we have a man version??
Louise – How did you ever figure this out!! I like it. It went together much easier than I thought. I liked that extra was added in areas so that if things didn't lay right you had wiggle room. The card slots were a little too wide for me – I think for my next version I'll go back and stitch down the card pockets on the sides so pockets are a little slimmer.

Love the idea of this wallet. One question though. I really would like RFID protection for credit cards but really don’t know how to – or if even possible to somehow add this protection in a pattern. Anyone have any suggestions?
HI, this is not the right pattern for such a fabric, you need a wrap-around zipper-type pattern to create a faraday type cage.
Hello. I have used RFID material in open wallets / card carrying cases similar to the card pockets layout. This is a lovely pattern and I hope to make one for a friend’s bday and will use the RFID material between the exterior and lining, closest to the outside fabric; I’ll also use the RFID matl behind the card slots, cutting a strip for each card pocket. Know this sounds tedious but well worth the effort. Hope this helps.
I’ve used / tested RFID material inside gift wallets (the Dainty Wallet by Yoan-free pattern and great, quick, easy gift to make/give); included increasing the width of the flap closure and adding RFID inside the flap, and it worked fine as I hoped. If you cut strips of RFID and sandwich those between each fold of the card slot, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work as well… maybe take a scrap of fabric like the card slot, slip a piece of RFID between f/b of card slot, and test it yourself… good luck. I’m going to purchase this pattern and get busy making for several friends.

I have used for passport wallets and mobile phone covers thick aluminum foil glued to a opened out Tyvek®* Envelope the type you get from the post office for free. I used it on the inside of the outside layer. To get 100% block though it needs to be 100% enclosed. I am an qualified electronics inspector, I’m not making up BS about how good it works.

I’ve just completed this wallet! I think that it’s cute but for myself I’d totally reconfigure it. I don’t feel the slots for cards feels safe. I actually stitched along the card slots to make them smaller so my cards would fit more snug.
I hate to give negative feedback but the directions are very lacking. I can’t believe how many times I read the pattern and watched the video and I’m a very experienced sewer.

Hi! I am wondering about the magnetic snaps – I used some on a bag pocket once that held my cards and it demagnetized the magnetic strip on the back of the cards – has anyone mentioned if they have had that happen?
As far as I know, this does not happen anymore.
Could I use Kraft tex for the card slots? Would that help reduce some of the bulk?
Yes I think you can, but you will have to adjust the pattern.

You can download and open the PDF to read and follow the instructions on your computer. Or, you save it to a thumb drive and take it to the public library or a printing shop to get printed.

I got this pattern quite awhile ago and finally took the plunge. I m calling it my practice one, because I wish I would have made the corners a little sharper. It is still very useful and it is in my purse now! Love the video tutorial.
I love the look of this, but it’s slightly larger than I was after – I have lots of cards, but no where near that many! and I find it much more useful if a wallet fits in my coat pocket. Do you think it would be easy enough to adjust the pattern after I’ve purchased it to knock an inch or too of the 6.75 inches? Thanks very much and Oliver really made me smile!
Yes of course you can change the dimensions, however make sure you are consistent with all the pieces.

I liked the idea but was disappointed with the pattern. It was lacking of precision with the measurements. For instance the final size of purse was never given and mine finished too big and I was left with 1/4 inch to saw. I found it used a lot of fabric.

I purchased the Ultimate Wallet pattern and printed it off. I have made bags, quilts and alot of other different things but I’ve never made a wallet before, so I was happy to have the pattern and a video tutorial. Unfortunately, I can’t find the video tutorial. I have used the link printed on the pattern and it said page not found. The only video I found was the one on youtube.com of the 3:01 minute finished product. Can you help me with the correct video tutorial link? Thank you!

When you are sent the pattern after purchase, in the pattern is the link, my computer had it highlighted and all I had to do was click on it, lol. I love this wallet and purchased the pattern and a boxy bag at the same time. I downloaded and printed the boxy bag, but had to buy more ink before I could do the same with the wallet…now I don’t know how to get to the right place to print off the wallet pattern. help. Plz
You can either use the link in the pattern receipt that you got from Craftsy originally, or if you don’t have that the patterns are all saved for you by Craftsy in your pattern library. When you go to your Craftsy home page, click on the left hand menu where it says Patterns, and all the patterns you have ever saved are there ready for you to download when you are ready to sew. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA hi Oliver – you’re a cute “outtake”, LOL!! ! I was just on your mom’s “Pattern of the Month” giveaway page and this wallet caught my eye, so I came over for a closer look. I’m glad I did – the wallet is SUPER cool so my fingers are crossed that I’m the lucky winner – I haven’t even looked at the other patterns yet because this one was so cool – off to go do some more investigating!
I just finished making this wallet! It turned out very nice but the only thing I need to comment on is that you didn’t state in the instructions that the interfacing should be the fusible kind. I didn’t have any fusible and had already cut my interfacings with the sew in kind. This made my sewing delayed and more expensive because I had to go back out and buy the fusible interfacing.
Fusible interfacing isn’t essential for this project, you could use the sew-in kind instead, but its certainly more convenient and I think easier to use, so you’ll see me using that in all my projects. But if you prefer the sew in kind, or thats all you have on hand, you can certainly use it instead.
I might have to order this just for that 3 legged cat.
This looks great, but would definitely add an outside pocket with a snap or velcro tab to keep my cell phone. And maybe some small straps so I don’t have to carry anything but this when I go out!
