Reversible Apron Pattern – I’ve got you covered !

Reversible apron pattern. Sew looking forward to making this apron!

Wrapping up my sewing for the kitchen series comes the ultimate in stylish kitchen wear.  This full reversible apron pattern will keep you and your clothes protected while still being stylish enough that you'll be happy to open the door to your dinner guests.  Get a splash on it while cooking?  No problem – it's fully reversible so simply wipe then switch it around to the clean side for a quick change.

I let the fabric choices speak for themselves in this apron.  Not everyone wants to be decked out in frills and frou-frou while cooking so this apron has a sleeker styling that's more flattering and practical.

Features:

  • Not too frou-frou, sleek and practical
  • Elastic at the neckline for a comfortable fit
  • Fully reversible, mix and match your fabrics
  • Patch pocket – have one, two or none, its up to you
  • Pleats in the skirt for just the right amount of volume
  • Plenty of options to showcase your favorite prints and fabrics
  • Multi sized pattern fitting a waist up to approx 50 inches
  • Can be tied at the back or the front, instructions given for both
  • Full photo PDF instuctions

The Testing Team Feedback

Ratings on this pattern – the tester ratings were split pretty much 50/50 between beginner and intermediate.  I suggest a confident beginner could complete this project with care, but make sure to read the instructions carefully for each step instead of making an assumption, or you might find you can't turn your apron the right way out!

BeckyAwbrey – “Cool concept.  I like it being reversible and that I can choose the length of the ties. The style of the apron can be easily changed just by changing what fabric is used.”

Becky – “I love the little gray circles that match up on the pattern pieces. Big help.”

SarahSarah – “I really like the idea of a reversible apron. Cutting the pieces was easy and the instructions for that portion clear. I did find on my first attempt that I missed that on the waist ties two needed to be cut out, but on my second attempt I realized my own mistake on that. Otherwise all directions were clear and concise. I had no trouble following the directions and it was super cute. I like an apron that wraps around the hip area.”

Stephanie3Stephanie – “I like the design. The elastic on top does give it a distinctive homemade look. As long as that is what you are going for, then that's great. It came out a bit shorter than I expected for an apron but this is an easy fix for next time.”

LindaLinda – “I liked the apron pattern when I first saw it. I really liked that it's reversible. I found the model to be feminine but not too frilly ! I also liked the pocket option. Can be easily customize to your taste. I was not sure about the elastic but I was pleasantly surprised as it makes it more comfortable to wear. Can be used other place than the kitchen like for painting or working in a workshop.”
