Craftsy Unlimited Becomes Bluprint: What It Means For You

Craftsy Unlimited has just rebranded and expanded as “Bluprint” and now includes not only unlimited access to all your favorite sewing classes, but also thousands of hours of classes on topics as varied and diverse as Yoga, cooking, painting, dance, and photography.

We think this is a very good move for Craftsy and for our readers.  Many, many of our readers have huge investments in Crafty Class libraries that they own and will want to use forever, so Craftsy Unlimited with only sewing classes wasn't that attractive.  With all the new content in Bluprint, though there's lots to see, learn and do.

Also, if you don't already have a big Craftsy collection this is a way to get access to everything all at once.

An Exclusive Offer For So Sew Easy Readers

Well, the folks at Craftsy are very confident in Bluprint and they REALLY want you to try it –so much so that they have put together a very special offer only for So Sew Easy readers.  With this special offer, you can get a 1-week FREE trial and the first month for only $1.

So that's a full 5 WEEKS of Craftsy Unlimited for only ONE DOLLAR.

Let me just state that again because the deal is so good.  With the special offer only to So Sew Easy readers, you can get a 1-week free trial plus the whole first month for only $1.

Remember you can cancel anytime during your free trial.  If you do so before your trial ends – they'll even let you finish up the trial for free! Forgot to cancel? Reach out to Craftsy within 24 hours of the charge for a refund.  When you sign up for the free trial, you'll have to select a plan that you will take after the trail.  Please note that you will only get the first month for $1.

USA, Canada, Australia & New Zealand Only

We ran a special like this a few weeks ago and many, many readers participated.  However, due to some constraints with the Craftsy system, the opportunity was only available to our readers in the US.  This, of course, upset more than a few of our followers outside the US.  So we went to bat with Craftsy and got them to re-run the promo but this time including our friends in Canada, Australia & New Zealand as well.  Unfortunately, however, apparently, due to privacy issues, they can't include readers in the EU which currently still includes the UK.

I have Craftsy classes that I have bought I’m now informed that the site will no longer be supported what does this mean? Will I no longer have access?

I am not sure. This is sad. Best to contact them.

After being with Craftsy from the beginning, my greatest disappointment is the now COMPLETE LACK OF INSTRUCTOR INTERACTION on Bluprint. The only folks to answer your questions now will be other classmates. I also think they’ve “deconstructed” topics in a way, to discourage the non-subscriber.
For example: They took a single discipline like machine embroidery and then broke it down into a class on stabilizers, another on threads, another on hoops, monograms, etc. so if you are not a subscriber and want to start learning machine embroidery you will have to buy at least 3 different classes just to get started! So it’s essentially a glorified YouTube. I now find myself searching through Bluprint 4-5 machine embroidery classes and user comments trying to get all the info I need…just like YouTube. It’s time consuming and frustrating.
I sure hope somebody creates a new start-up with the old Craftsy business model. I think they will do very well….obviously.

Bluprint is a monthly-fee (or yearly fee) service that allows you to WATCH any class you want. If you have already bought classes they are “yours” forever, just like before. But the classes you watch and have NOT bought are not yours. As long as you continue the blueprint service, you will have access to everything. If you cancel your monthly membership to Bluprint, you still have access to the classes you bought but not to anything else you watched.

Craftsy’s classes to buy, I think, still are on Craftsy. About a year or two ago Craftsy was bought by, I think, NBC. That’s where a lot of this new Bluprint content has come from. Not sure if “bluprint” existed before as a separate entity.

I found that almost every month, if Craftsy offered classes for $20, I would buy at least one class, occasionally more. So for me the unlimited access for a monthy fee was a great idea. I still own all the classes I bought, but have been able to watch a lot of classes I didn’t buy. I’ve always liked the platform, have learned a lot from every class, and find even now I’m using things I learned from classes a few years ago. I’m into several kinds of crafts and have enjoyed Craftsy ever since it started. Hope this explanation helps people.

Misleading Ad. Can only get one month free if you sign up for the “monthly” billing plan. I signed up for one year plan so I don’t get one month free. Also all taxes on $106. a year plan amount to $111.83 for me. Craftsy was very nice about offering to cancel due to the misleading nature of the offer.

What happens to those of us who have PURCHASED Crafty classes in the past? Do we still have unlimited access to the classes we already purchased??

I had the same question and wrote to them and asked. I was assured I would still have unlimited access to any class I purchased.

And what about us poor souls down south in South Africa? We don’t get to have as much fun as the rest of you by the looks of it

I subscribed, but said I will be billed for $18.99 on August 12th. What happened to the .99 for the first month? Thank you

HI Mary, I don’t have control over that, I think the best thing you can do is contact Craftsy to see what they can tell you. In the meantime, I will send your feedback to them and hopefully, I will answer, I will keep you posted.

No thanks! I burned down once! I’m from Croatia and I was happy that I will get 5 weeks of unlimited Craftsy for $1. Yeah, right! Thanks for all that false advertising I had to pay almost $20 which I didn’t have. So,thanks-NO WAY I will do that again. From now only free stuff for me.

Now I know! The first time I signed up is after you said everyone has chance for Craftsy unlimited for $1 … And then you announced that the offer is valid for the USA etc…. That did not stop Craftsy from charging me for the whole month … $20 is not small price in my country. Nevermind, a lesson learned. Sorry for my bad English.

Your English is perfect, there is really not much I can do about this cause I do not own Craftsy (I wish)… all I can say is always read the smaller print. i wish there was a price world wide but this is for now a dream. Not sure why this is so, I supposed got to do with local taxes. It is only my guess, I hope you took advantage of the whole month though 🙂

I am not a fan of the new Bluprint. After the free week, the class goes away. You can not save the classes. Not sure what would happen after a month. Why would I want to invest in an year membership and get classes that I will never watch. It is not for me. Don’t be fooled. It is nothing great.

Thank you very much for keeping your readers informed, truly appreciate your kindness, I personally would miss out on so many opportunities without you.

I cannot access the website. However, is the offer for Blueprint only available if you never used a similar offer at Craftsy?

Will I have access to my classes and patterns from Craftsy after the rebranding?

Grace

Hi Mayra thanks for this, however it’s when I click the link and sign in it wants to charge me for either a month or year. Are UK readers not included? When on the site I sign in with my craftsy details.

Why can’t I benefit from the blueprint free trial?
Hope to hear from you shortly
Thank, Grace

I do not like buying ‘a pig in a poke” as my grandmother would say. What exactly would I get for $106.00 a year?
Your ad seems to suggest that all classes on Craftsy would be mine without paying for them. eh? I want to see THAT in plain speech and written down.
