Even the most casual readers of this site will probably know that I'm a great fan of Bernina sewing machines. I own a few of them including the mighty Bernina B880 Plus which is my workhorse and in my humble opinion the best sewing machine in the world.
We've written a bit about Bernina over the years including the article For Fans of Bernina Sewing Machines (me…)
A few years ago I was lucky enough to have a personalized guided tour of the Bernina sewing machine factory in Steckborn, Switzerland which you can read about below.
More recently, I was fortunate enough to meet the owners of the Bernina company on one of their visits to Singapore.
I say all this to try to set the scene about how excited I am that our sponsors have agreed to giveaway a set of a Bernina Bernette B38 as well as a matching B44 Funlock Overlocker. We're going to give away the B38 first followed by the B44 in a subsequent drawing.
Let's have a look at the Bernette B38

I miss my Bernina. My husband bought me a Bernina shortly after we married 42 years ago, and it got plenty of use, making not only my clothing, but our son’s pants, etc., until he was 3 or 4. It was a workhorse and I loved it. But, alas, it died a noble death. So when Mom (Mother in law) passed, and I was asked if I wanted her old Bernina, I didn’t hesitate. YES YES YES! When I got it home and opened it up…WOW! It had a knee control, and more attachments than I’d ever seen. And threading it was an adventure, as the thread had to be fed through the holes, not just slip into as did all the machines I had ever used. But.,,,it was a BERNINA, and I loved it. Then came the worst day of my life (almost). The motor gave up the ghost and stopped working. So here I have a Bernina Sewing Machine, that I cannot use, but I do plan on getting it repaired, as soon as I find someone to replace the motor., ’cause after all, its a BERNINA!
