Clear Vinyl Sewing Patterns Roundup
Clear vinyl is a really terrific material to work with. You can make all sorts of useful bags, pouches, and carrying cases all with the benefit of being able to see what's inside without opening it.
Kids really love pencil cases made using clear vinyl which makes it very easy to keep track of all those different pens, pencils, and erasures.
One overall tip to consider when sewing with clear vinyl is that the presser foot will sometimes stick to the vinyl. You can manage this by putting a layer of tissue paper between the foot and the vinyl or even better use a couple of small patches of scotch tape on the bottoms of the presser foot feet. This will make the foot slide nicely over the material.

Just to share: I’ve had success using pet screening ( a heavy duty bendable plastic screening from the hardware store) which still gives you a see-through, but more flexible and “breathable” surface. Try it!
