Christmas is Nearly HERE! Time to Get Sewing.
Christmas is a very popular time of the year for sewing. Many experienced sewists are always looking for new Christmas sewing patterns and projects to brighten up their homes and tables, while many new sewists may be getting a sewing machine for the first time and they are looking for fun and free projects to try out their new toy.
We decided to put together a resource that would help everyone so we compiled what we think is the most comprehensive list of free Christmas sewing patterns on the internet: The Ultimate Christmas Sewing Roundup!
In this roundup, you'll find a wide variety of patterns and projects –anything and everything you will need to decorate your Christmas tree, your holiday table, and your home. Heck, there's even aprons, sweaters and dresses to decorate you and your family!
I also wanted to highlight a couple of very popular Christmas sewing patterns and projects on our own site in case you missed them. Christmas stockings are an important part of many family traditions. They are also really fun projects to sew for both beginners and more experienced sewists. Here are two different types of stockings that you might enjoy.
The first is one of the most popular Christmas stocking tutorials around that we published a few years ago with our friends at Nap Time Crafters. And the second is a fun “no hang” Christmas stocking for those without a mantle or similar place to hang a stocking. Please check them out!
One of our most popular Christmas sewing projects from last year.

Thank you for all the great ideas and patterns! Christmas decorations and kitchen Christmas ideas, that’s what I’m “into” this year. And my good ol’ standby–a quilt!
I would make some gifts for Chrustmas, purses and tote bags for friends and falmily
Thanks for all the great ideas!!! I will use many of them.
Mayra,
a great collection, thank you for bringing them all together. Have a great day (though a busy one, I know)
Thanks for sharing so many great ideas and projects
What an amazing collection – there truly is something for pretty well everyone AND I (almost) have time to get some of these made before Christmas!! Thanks for this and what you do year-round. I hope you’re getting some time off at the holidays.
Thank you, Linda, I will take sometime in June-July, otherwise, I work every day 🙂
Thank you for these great ideas – there is so much to choose from
Love your lists…keep them coming.
Facilitates finding projects…appreciate your time spent in surfing.
I really like your gathering of various craft/sewing ideas…. however I’m not sure if you are aware that something in these posts must be “buggy” or “spammy” or something(!) because it bogs down my computer such that it freezes and I have to “end task” via my task manager and then scan for viruses and such. It is a real problem and I hesitate to explore too much because of it. Can you check at your end please.
Hi Linda, I do not send you bugs nor do I have bugs on my site. Otherwise, there is no way I could work with the advertisers who pay for your free patterns and tutorials. What you are seeing is purely advertising tailored to your browsing history. The best thing you can do is empty your cookies and clear your browsing history on your computer, not only you will get rid of all the adds but also will speed your computer.
